Analysis of Deckard and K
Deckard is Human
Human argument: His life span is significantly longer than that of the other nexus six models. He has also aged throughout the time that he’s been alive. Replicants , nexus six models at least, don’t age because they simply weren’t designed to last past three years.
Deckard is a replicant
Deckard has been living in an area that is incredibley radiated, something very superhuman. In addition that fact that Sapper Morton (Dave Bautista) has lasted as long as it has, Nexus Model 8, would give evidence that Deckard is indeed a replicant. In order for this to be true Decarkd would have had to be two models ahead of the models that were availaible in 2022. Also K is a replicant and it would make the most sense for K to be a reflection of Deckard as they are both Blade Runners and fell in love with an AI/ replicant. Not only that, but they both struggled with trying to figure out what they really are.

In the case of “K”, Ryan goslings character, most of his life has been chosen for him, from the assignments he has as a Blade Runner to the life he lives outside of work. All of this is dictated by the fact that he wholeheartdley believes he is a replicant, until he starts to question his own memories.
The rabbit hole that he ends up going down is a path to individuality regardless of wether or not those memories are his own.
When he finally figures out that the memory’s he’s had weren’t his own but those of Deckards daughter. He feels lost at first, but then realizes that he has found a sense of purpose to reconnect Deckard with his daughter no matter the cost. In addition K fully realizes that he is able to make his own decisions without letting the fact that he is a replicant dictate his life. This ability to choose is the most human thing possible and begs the question, does it even matter if K is a replicant.
